CORNERSTONES

Trestle Board October 2020 Grants Pass Masonic Lodge #84 From the East Worshipful Master – Doug Sammis My Brothers, CORNERSTONES We are in the mix of a learning curve, and how to juggle critical challenges? My Brothers, you have an advantage with a foundation stone or setting stone emblematically concreted in place. All other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus making sense of the entire architecture. Show kindness, compassion and empathy to those in need. Embrace your Cornerstone and as Masons others may find as they come into contact with us a reason to turn to our Lodge for help. Those in our community are wrestling with Covid 19, Wildfires, lock down depression, a job, keeping a home, or feeding a family who may benefit from knowing a Mason. Highlight your cornerstone and please let your Lodge know where we might be able to help our community neighbors and families in their time of need. Next, Grants Pass Lodge will be having its Stated Meeting on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 beginning at 7:30 PM. We are thankful for Brother Senior Warden, Major John Davis’ safe return from another tour of duty with the National Guard. Please attend in support of all our Lodge officers for this Stated Meeting because it is step up night.

AND PART ON THE SQUARE

From the West

Senior Warden John Davis

Brethren,

Let me first start by saying it is good to be back. A big thanks is extended for all the Brothers who filled in and covered for me while I was gone.

I appreciate all the thanks upon my return and I would encourage you to think about other individuals you have not spoken to in a significant time. This is a good time to reach out and check on old friends, widows, and relatives you have not spoken to in a while. See if they need help, a chore done around the house, or maybe just someone to eat dinner with on a lonely night. Our community is only as strong as the bonds we create.

We have a few months left in the year but have some big tasks to manage. We will need to focus on the upcoming officer elections, budget, and installation. I look forward to finishing out 2020 as your Senior Warden and serving all of you to the best of my ability.

AND MEET ON THE LEVEL

From the South

Junior Warden Jim Warriner

Brethren,

The third row for the “rogue gallery” of Past Masters in the dining room is now complete and includes a separate 3 position frame for Past Grand Masters.

Our lodge is now authorized with BottleDrop to bring up to 10 blue bags per day and receive credit to our BottleDrop account. Blue bags and the required stickers are in the room labled “recycling”. Feel free to either fill a bag with what is in the room (20 lb max.) or take a bag home and fill it, and be sure you attach the required sticker to each bag you fill. Once filled take it to the BottleDrop, there is no waiting in line just scan the tag at the drop door behind the building, open the door and insert the full bag/bags.

The intended use for these funds is to support the youth of our community. Whether it is Bethel, Demolay, Scholarships, ChildID, or other programs that benefit our youth.
